Originally from London, Ontario, Frank Hawley won seven NHRA
Funny Car national events during his 10-year fuel racing career. Most forget that it was Hawley,
not John Force, who gave Austin Coil his first Winston Championships -- winning both the 1982
and 1983 NHRA titles behind the wheel of the infamous Chi-Town Hustler Dodge. Hawley also
had two career wins in Top Fuel during the 1990 season while driving for Darrell Gwynn. His
biggest impact on the sport was however his Drag Racing schools which he first established in
1985. Since then over 10,000 drivers have graduated.
