Life has so many lessons to learn that, at times, I think I'll never make it to graduation. My life has held ups and downs, curve balls and avalanches -
the road has never been smooth. The main thing is that I keep traveling along the way and I try to remember that it is not the destination but the
journey.
When the daily grind gets to be too much and it seems as if the load is too great to carry there is one place that I can always go to and come away
refreshed, revitalized, energized and ready to do battle for another day. For me it's a little piece of heaven on earth and I find it at the Race Track.
You see, I'm a Nitro Addict, plain and simple. I don't go to any self-help groups to alleviate my symptoms - heck, I indulge myself as often as I can
and my advice to you is to do the same! There is nothing better in the world than experiencing first-hand what it feels like to watch those man-made
machines achieve superhuman speeds; it's indescribable and the only word that comes close to being able to explain how I feel is amazement. Over the
years I've sat in the stands, worked on a pit crew and even volunteered now and again - I've experienced this sport on many levels and found each and
every Race to be extremely satisfying. When I can't make a Race I always check out what's happening on www.cmdra.com because it is almost like being
there!
In Motorcycle Drag Racing anything can happen - I have learned to expect the unexpected. One minute you are fighting hard to stay in the Race and the
next minute you've come out on top smelling like a rose. The most important thing to do is to be prepared!
In the face of so much uncertainty, I am comforted by the constants of what a Day at the Races holds for me. When I am at the Track, pretty much I know
that I'll be getting good bang for my buck what with all the thrills, chills and excitement. There is something else that comes along when you pay your
entrance fee - something priceless; it is the gift of seeing the Racers accomplishing their goals and exceeding their personal bests. Victory comes
through hard work and dedication, that's for sure. If you are relentless, focused and consistent you'll see the benefits and it will show in your
results. This is what I have learned from Drag Racing.
No matter what happens in my world, there is always another Motorcycle Drag Race to attend, another road to travel and new sights to see. With so many
insecurities, intangibles and unknowns, it is nice to know that I can always depend on Drag Racing to cure what's ailing me. See you at the Track!
