. . . Jeff Arend, Canada's fastest
ever drag racer (303.94 mph) got another stint driving Chuck Beal's
fuel burning Dodge Avenger during the recent NHRA Autozone Winternationals.
Despite a rather long layoff, Arend looked sharp as he qualified
and took the now Pleuger-chassied machine to a pair of 5.16 secs
runs during the event. Arend, who is now happily married and residing
permanently in California, is playing an intricate part as an
instructor at Frank Hawley's Drag Racing School.
