JAGUAR ON STEROIDS

London, Ontario's Mike Mahon, has confirmed a revolutionary new drag racing project for his team. The former NHRA Pro Stock Truck racer has begun construction on what will be a drag racing first -- a 2001 Jaguar XKR Coupe! Powered by a 814 CID John Kaase motor -- Mahon's machine will be run in IHRA Top Sportsman as well as local Ontario Quick 8/Pro Modified. The car is currently under construction at L&J Race Cars (in Hamilton). Joe Van Overbeek will assemble the body. Mahon reports that Jaguar Canada is extremely excited about his new venture and have anted up various body parts and pieces. Mahon's "Jag" is expected to be completed in January 2001 and will be tested in Florida or Texas prior to it's official IHRA circuit debut at the season-opening event in Rockingham NC (March 29-Apr. 1st). Keep watching Dragracecanada.com for updates and a preview look once the car is completed.
