BAD TO THE BONE REBORN . . .
. . . Grand Bend Motorplex track manager/drag racer Ron Biekx has confirmed that he has acquired the infamous "Bad to the Bone" supercharged ‘48 Fiat which was formally raced by Jeff Arend. Biekx will run the car on a limited basis next season with a 526 CID KB supercharged on alcohol. "I going to try to run the car without blowing it up or going over the guardrail," said Biekx. He reports that he plans to completely restore the car which has been sitting idle for the last five seasons. Long term plans include some safety updates and eventual "pop" for the fuel tank by the year 2001. Jeff Arend himself will be a team consultant. Is there anything cooler then a fuel-burning Fiat with at Top Fuel wing? Hmmm -- I don’t think so!
