Canadian Pro Mod star Carl Spiering is at home and resting following an industrial related accident which occurred at his trailer shop in Jordan Station on April 19th. Carl received burns to his left arm and face when a diesel fuel tank he was working on exploded. Carl spent a couple of days in hospital before being released.
"I have second degree burns to my left arm and some minor burns to my face," Carl confided. "I feel somewhat lucky believe it or not. The explosion was very severe but it blew me back and away -- I was not right in it. I did not receive any burns to my hands and I'm thankful for that. Having a proper grip is very important for driving a race car."
Carl confirmed that while being idle at home, a big concern was for his imminent racing season and meeting his sponsorship commitments for his major backer Eaton Cutler-Hammer.
"I'm racing at Grand Bend (Mopar Canadian Nationals)," he reiterated. "I've been all over the Niagara peninsula seeing the best doctors and nurses and I'm getting the best treatment possible. So far all is positive and without anything unforeseen -- I'll be in the car."
DragRaceCanada on behalf of all drag racing fans wishes Carl a speedy recovery.
