Title Rights Shift for IHRA Edmonton

CARS RV, MARINE AND MOTORSPORTS SPONSORS EMAX ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONALS IN EDMONTON
IHRA and the recently renamed Castrol Raceway in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, today announced that CARS RV, Marine and Motorsports is the title sponsor of the fourth event on the 11-race eMax Drag Racing Series, the Rocky Mountain Nationals.
The sanctioning body also announced the contract between IHRA and Castrol Raceway to host the CARS RV, Marine and Motorsports Rocky Mountain Nationals presented by Torco Race Fuels, this season scheduled for June 23 – 25, has been extended for three more years. The contract is good until the 8th Annual event in 2010, which at that time has the option for renewal.
“This extension confirms that the relationship between IHRA and Castrol Raceway has been strong and prosperous and will continue to grow,” said Rob Reeves, president of Castrol Raceway. “Last season Castrol Raceway became the quickest and fastest drag strip in Canada. With CARS RV, Marine and Motorsports stepping up and sponsoring the event, the race will continue to grow and provide even more excitement for our fans.”
“The Rocky Mountain Nationals has been a huge success since we first held the race in Edmonton four years ago, and we are thrilled to announce the contract extension,” said IHRA President Aaron Polburn. “Between CARS, Torco, and the recently named track sponsorship, Castrol Raceway will be a valuable partner in the growth of the eMax Drag Racing Series.”
CARS RV, Marine and Motorsports (www.thecars.ca) is a western Canadian dealership with locations in Leduc, Red Deer, Edmonton and Fort McMurray. The Leduc dealership is located within close proximity to Castrol Raceway. The sponsorship will include displays during the national event, demo days for customers to test product, and various displays and events throughout the year.
TORCO PRESENTING SPONSOR FOR ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONALS
IHRA announced today that Torco Racing Fuels has renewed as presenting sponsor of the CARS RV, Marine and Motorsports Rocky Mountain Nationals June 23 – 25, 2006, at the recently renamed Castrol Raceway.
“We sponsored the event in 2005. It was such a big success and we were very happy with the results,” said Evan Knoll, President/CEO of Torco Racing Fuels. “It’s a great facility, great track, with great owners, so we’re excited about the opportunity to do it again.”
“This is now our second year with Torco presenting the Rocky Mountain Nationals, and its proving to be a very important component to one of the biggest events in Edmonton,” said Castrol Raceway President Rob Reeves. “Evan and the Torco team are truly great people, not only supporting this event, but their entire involvement with the sport."

The CARS RV, Marine and Motorsports Rocky Mountain Nationals presented by Torco Race Fuels will be the fourth event of the 11-race eMax Drag Racing Series. This season, Edmonton fans will witness the return of one of the most popular classes in all of drag racing, the Torco Racing Fuels Pro Nitro Funny Cars.
