 Stoll Wins Hindle Fastest Streetbike Shootout

Chicago AMA/PROSTAR Pro Street racer Phil Stoll took the win and set new
records for a street-tired motorcycle on Canadian turf during the 2006
Hindle Canadian Fastest Streetbike Shootout on October 15 at Grand Bend
Motorplex.
 After the first date was rained out in August, the event was once again
pushed back - one day - due to the impending threat of rain and high winds.
Despite the delay, some of the best racers around came out for a chance at
the $1000 winner's prize.
 Riding Ronnie Mitchell's infamous turbocharged Suzuki Hayabusa dubbed
'Casper', Stoll made the quickest and fastest Shootout/Pro Street run ever
seen in Canada with a 7.47 at 194.38 MPH. Michigan's Lonnie Angel rode his
RCC Turbos-powered 'Busa to the 2nd spot at 7.88/183, and fellow U.S. racer
Jason Broski made it three in the 7's with a 7.90/188.
 RCC Turbos owner Richard Peppler didn't have his own bike ready, but carried
the flag for the Canadian contingent on customer 'Canadian Mike' Mildon's
'Busa. Peppler was the fastest Canadian, qualifying 4th at 8.21/177. Jeff
Bloor made his competition debut on the Cycle Max/Orient Express ZX-14,
qualifying 5th on the quickest nitrous bike at the track at 8.88/160.
 Round one saw Stoll and Angel both run 7.73 to advance, along with Broski,
Peppler and Crane. Stoll got the bye in round two, while Angel ran a hot
7.74/184 to gun down Crane and Broski's 7.91/183 got the best of Peppler.
Angel got the bye into the finals where he would meet Stoll on the defending
event champ Mitchell's bike.
Angel took .055 at the tree and was even with Stoll through 330 feet, but
Stoll had the right tuneup and Angel spun on the top end. The quickest
side-by-side street-tired run in Canadian history saw Stoll's 7.61/189
getting the best of Angel's still impressive 7.88 at just 164 MPH.
