Comeback Statement for DM Racing!

 Last weekend's "very" weather plagued NHRA Toyo Tires Nationals in Pennsylvania included an important comeback for Canadian racer Daniel Mercier.
The event marked his much anticipated return to competition and was his first race since the spring following some internal team turmoil.
Daniel has hired on an all new crew and for this event flew in reputed TAD racer Duane Shields (from Nevada) to help with his tune-up. Those moves provided definite dividends.
 After experimenting with an all new motor configuration during his first two time trials with poor results -- the team reverted to a previous and proven combination for their final qualifying run. They were
rewarded with a quick 5.431 secs at 268.49 mph to qualify 7th.
In round one Daniel clobbered Richard Bourke with a highly impressive 5.345 secs at 270.16 mph. He did however lose out in round two (held on Monday in vastly different conditions) when his 5.426 secs at 266.85 mph was run down by fellow injected-nitro racer Aaron Olivarez. Oliverez went on to win the event's conclusion (held Wednesday).
"We have gone through a difficult period and it feels great to be back racing," said Mercier. "But sometimes in drag racing you need to step back a bit before you can move forward. We really appreciated Duane's help -- he has helped to send us again in the right direction."
 The DM Racing/NitroMoose machine is scheduled to make three more event appearances in 2007 running two LODRS events in NHRA Division One and one final LODRS event in Georgia.
