Race City Iron Man Classic Report
Race City - August 23, 2007

Joe Delehay of Calgary cleaned the table last weekend at Race City, winning the most recent West Coast Pro Modified stop and putting himself back in the lead for the tour title. Delehay, who beat Dan Vogt of Regina in the final, was aided by the early departure of Trevor Lowe of Agassiz, BC, who broke the chassis on his Camaro during Saturday night qualifying. The West Coast Pro Modified Association season has one race left, at Billings, MT in a couple of weeks.

Mark Campbell of Stoney Plain took the International Blown Alcohol Association victory - his first since joining the series at the beginning of this year. Campbell gained a starting line advantage over Jason Bussey of Edson, who is also in his first full year on the circuit, and held on to win by less than 4/100ths of a second. Bussey was able to pad his points lead in the IBAA, which has two races left in its season.

The winners of the Iron Man trophy, the most prestigious award of the International Hot Rod Association were: Rich Chiasson of Edmonton in Box, Andy Seabrook of Strathmore in No Box, Lyle Mowat of Langdon in Street ET and Joel Bowen of Bragg Creek in Junior Dragster.

Vern Mills debuted his outstanding 55 Chevy [Jerry Hauss Car] & was awarded the event's Best Appearing & Best Engineered.

Next weekend is the ProTrucker Big Rig Weekend with the popular Big Rigs closing out their season on Sunday afternoon.
