Ministry of Speed (Metal!)

As most fans of DragRaceCanada probably are already aware we have a rather discriminating taste in music. Our long running main page links to bands like Rammstein and Ministry are probably dead giveaways as to our preferred genre of choice; industrial & speed metal rock.
In 2008 we have embarked on an association and in support of arguably the best band of all time within this category, Ministry, who this year will be making their final World Tour (the C-U-Latour) which includes some touchdowns in Canada including Calgary, Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal. DragRaceCanada was privileged to be in attendance for Ministry's show at the Whiskey in Calgary last Wednesday night. Al Jourgensen's assembled all-star line-up of musicians which includes Tommy Victor (Prong), Sin Quirin (Revolting Cocks), Jimmy DeGrasso (Megadeath) and Tony Campos (Static X), did not disappoint the sold out jam-packed venue as they delivered a near 3-hour barrage of high-powered music and mayhem.
When that concert concluded, I and my co-assigned photographer Kevin "Keeling" Sproule, both agreed that it felt like we had witnessed an NHRA "nitro" qualifying session of enormous proportions!
DragRaceCanada offers it's thanks to management staff of Ministry and 13th Planet Records who helped with arrangements; Julie Arkenstone, Heidi Ellen Robinson and Angie Jourgensen. We will be attending at least a couple more concerts (at Las Vegas in April) and then in Toronto (May 4th). (Fans attending the NHRA Summit Racing Nationals at Las Vegas should note that the Ministry concert is the Wednesday night before the race, at the House of Blues.)
If you consider yourself a serious fan of rock music like we do -- well then the writing is on the wall. Don't miss out on your last chance to see the "best of the best" in action. Like they say -- you don't know really what you've got until its gone!
