Quality Plus Team Looking For Quality Finish
Denise Ramsey - March 11, 2010

Tony Pontieri of Bolton Ontario Canada returns to NHRA competition in the Get Screened America Pro Mod Challenge for the first race of the 2010 season this coming weekend at Gainesville Raceway in Florida.

“We stayed home in 2009, and made some big changes to our car," said Pontieri.  "We now have a 69 Camaro, last time we raced this series we were in a 57 Chevy. “The team had a lot of work ahead of them when they left Las Vegas in 2008 finishing just a few points behind 2008 Champion Josh Hernandez."

Pontieri took the 57 Chassis and had a 69 Camaro body fitted to it by Joe Van Overbeek, “We had such a great finish in 2008, but we came up a little short, we know that this team is going to win races, and we recently bought 2 brand new motors from ERD. These engines are going to make a lot of Horsepower and let us run consistently in the 5.9’s on our way to running some 5.8s.We had a great test session in Valdosta, GA and we are confident that we can compete with all the rest of the teams in the Get Screened America Pro Mod Challenge.

The changes within the NHRA series this year bring on a added excitement, racing for a Wally, and a Championship, with some television coverage for our team owner Rob Sporring and his company Quality Plus Compressors.

Thank you to Joe Van Overbeek (519) 289-0404 Of London Ontario, Quality Plus Compressors, Rob And Ann Sporring, AFT Clutches, DMPE, ERD, The Trailer Shop, ATC, Hoosier Tires, Ohio Crankshaft, Cucci’s Hair salon, and Roger Burgess for all his hard work to make this series happen.
