Thanks to final round victories in the IHRA Summit SuperSeries run off at Pittsburgh Raceway Park, Canada will be strongly represented during the Summit World Championship race at the IHRA World Finals in Rockingham.

Will Steckley from Grand Bend Motorplex will join the no box elite 8 in Rockingham thanks to his final round win over Dragway 42's Dave Measell. Not to be outdone, Toronto's Steve Ferstl used a clutch .0009 reaction time to earn his way to Rockingham over Lancaster's Andy Gregorie.

Steckley and Ferstl will compete for the Summit SuperSeries world championship by racing other regional Summit SuperSeries champions who have raced their way to Rockingham during head-to-head competition both at their home tracks and their respective Summit Team Finals. The eight car field seeds the six Summit Team Finals champs against the "Wild Card" winner (selected at random from all participants with a performance rating of .601 or greater) and the "At Large" champion (the racer with the highest performance rating of IHRA tracks outside the geography of the Team Finals). One of the 2007 At Large champions will be making the trip from Alaska to compete!

The final positions in the elite 8 will be filled next weekend during the IHRA Summit Renegade Team Finals at Pine Valley Raceway Park in Texas.
