Brian Browell, 43, is a transplanted Canadian racer who owns and operates Custom Machine Shop in Lafayette, IN. He was born and raised in London, ON.
Browell Racing campaigns a 220 inch 1997 McKinney-built dragster in NHRA Competition eliminator. Car features various V-6 engine configurations ranging from 261 to 274 CID. Engines are built by legendary Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins and GM Bowtie block and GM Race Shop heads are used exclusively. Team employees custom hand fabricated intake manifolds.
Brian Browell won his first career NHRA national event title in 1999 when he prevailed at the 19th Annual Advance Auto Parts Southern Nationals (May 16th) at Commerce, GA. Before that Browell racing had three previous runner-up finishes in NHRA national event competition. Team has four NHRA Federal Mogul Division race wins to its credit -- the most recent victory came at Memphis Motorsports Park during March of 1999. Browell Racing are current NHRA national record holders for D/Dragster class. 1/4 mile : 7.44 secs and 175.78 mph and 1/8 mile: 4.71 secs 146.72 mph.
