1999 Ford Ranger is the first Pro Mod truck of its kind and debuted in August of 1999. A chassis by Cannon Pittman Race Cars features swing arm suspension technology. Truck is powered by 525 CID Boss Ford Hemi built by Mike Titleborn. Motor features head design and porting by Carol Carter at CC Racing (Virginia) and a fuel system by Bill Barrett. Supercharger is SSI, clutch is AFT and transmission is Lenco 3-speed. Team employs Mark Williams components and Weld Wheels. Paint scheme was designed by Greg Ozubko and applied by M&M Custom paint.
Cranberry Connection team first gained noteriority in 1992 when they became first "doorslammer" in history to eclipse the 220 mph barrier. That came in 1988 model Thunderbird at Ashcroft, BC. Since then team has been a force to reckon with primarily within West Coast Doorslammers Association tour where they have earned numerous event wins and track records.
Team finished third in circuit points in 1998 and second in 1997 with 1994 model T-Bird. In 1999 team ran its first full season on the IHRA national event tour.
May brothers are successful cranberry farmers in southern British Columbia with over 200 acres of farmland. Close knit team is known for hard work ethics and mechanical prowess. One of only a handful of Ford -powered Pro Modified machines in existence -- car and team consistently runs fast and contends at each and every event entered.
