Since beginning his Alcohol Funny Car career in 1983, Jeff McCulloch has been recognized as one of Canadas hardest running independent racers. Despite a limited racing budget and making only occasional event appearances -- McCulloch has still managed to earn Canadian drag racing noterity.
In 1998, McCulloch became the first driver in the world to put a Chevy-powered alcohol Funny Car into the five seconds zone. Using a bonafide Chevy motor, McCulloch ran an historic 5.95 secs while competing at the NHRA Federal Mogul Divison points race in Englishtown, NJ. McCullochs performance came using a 510 CID powerplant outfitted with a PSI "screw blower". That same year McCulloch finished in sixth place in final NHRA Division One FMFC points. He also set the track ET record at Cayuga International Dragway Park at 6.03 secs -- a mark which was still standing at the end of 1999.
Earlier in his career and while campaigning Chevy Monza, Chevy Cavalier and Pontiac Firebird-bodied machines, McCulloch was a top runner on the UDRA race circuit where he had numerous late round finishes. He considers his biggest event win to be during the Popular Hot Rodding Magazine Championships -- at Martin, MI., in 1988.
Funding for McCullochs "Enforcer" Camaro comes largely from his own machine shop business -- McCulloch Engines (Oshawa, ON) which specializes in high performance and domestic engine building and repairs. Eastern Overhead Doors (Oshawa) and Valleau Construction (Bomanville) provide his team with associate backing.
