Team driver/car owner Larry Sinke is a successful concrete contractor (St. Catherines Concrete Forming). He has been drag racing six years after starting his career with a Pro Street Camaro. In 1997 he moved up into the Pro Modified class after acquiring the Rick Jones-built 36 Chevy formally raced by Americans Tom and Chris Hunt. Initially that car was run using a unique nitrous-injected with unleaded fuel engine combination. However the team later switched to a Ed Wiens-built supercharged 526 CID Oldsmobile engine.
In 2002 the '36 Oldsmobile was sold to make room for a new Pro Modified '67 Chevy II. That car features a 114-inch wheelbase chassis constructed by Chris and Tommy Hunt and a 526 CID Oldsmobile engine built by Fred Speight at RCI Racing Engines. The car has been outfitted with an SSI supercharger which is spun at a IHRA legal 29% overdrive. The radical Chevy Nova replica employs Hoosier Tires and Weld Wheels.
Sinke, who is a familiar and strong runner within the Eastern Canada's Pro Mod circuit also contests select IHRA national events as well as local match races. The team is closely associated with the famous Canadian Alcohol Funny Car team: "Kardiac Kids". Larry Sinke is the car owner.
Valuable associate sponsorship for Hammer Racing is provided by Performance Cellar (Stoney Creek), Pro Fuels, and Nu Wall Concrete Forming (Arnie Manns - Binbrook, ON).
