Greg Hunter is a new player on Western Canada's FMFC scene making his class debut during the 2000 racing season. Hunter has prepared for his Funny Car racing future by most recently driving for Ian Gellatley in his Madd Hatter Funny Car within Western Canada's popular 7.50 secs International Blown Alcohol Racing Circuit. Prior to that Hunter drove his father Adrian's mini-rod Pulling Tractor and also raced a Super Comp dragster in which he was Rookie of the Year in 1996.
A Boss 429 Ford Motor will power the unique new Mustang. C&C Motorsports prepared that engine block. Brad's Automotive Machine did all the flow and headwork on the custom billet racing heads built by Indy Cylinder Heads.
The engine, which is 526 CID, will feature a PSI supercharger and a fuel system by Les Davenport (Acceleration Enterprises).
Other important components include a B&J Transmission, Crower clutch, a Strange Top Loader Rear, and a Trick Titanium clutch can. A Racepak computer system will help monitor all the team's performance development.
Major sponsorship for the inaugural Hunter Motorsports FMFC season is provided by Spitz Sunflower Seeds & Nuts -- who are also based from Medicine Hat Alberta. Associate sponsors include The Pita Pit (Medicine Hat) and Oasis Emission Consultants.
In late season 2003 while participating at the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event at Las Vegas, Greg recorded the quickest and fastest times of his career 6.04 secs at 239.20 mph -- to become Canada's quickest and fastest Ford-powered race cars. That impressive progression has the team optimistic about it's first "five" during the 2004 season.
