Calgary's Hutchings Bros., are highly regarded as one of Western Canada's strongest running NHRA legal Stock eliminator racing teams. Well known for their propensity and ability to run well under the NHRA national standard for their class, driver Randy Hutchings has been a consistent pole qualifier at regional NHRA divisional and national open events.
The team's 1981 Dodge Ram 150 features a 360 CID which was blue-printed and expertly assembled at the Lee Brothers Performance facility in Red Deer, Alberta. Featuring a 904 transmission and a 8 3/4 rear end, the truck weighs in at 3810 lbs for legal ET/SA trim.
The team is a former and current NHRA national record holder having set and reset the national standards on a number of occasions. Entering the 2003 racing season, driver Randy Hutchings holds the ET/SA marks at 11.76 secs 109.78 mph (set in May of 2001) and the FT/SA marks at 11.92 secs 108.60 mph (set in August 2002).
The teams biggest victory to date was a huge win in Stock eliminator at the Mission Raceway FMDRS event in May 2000 and a runner-up during Calgary's NHRA national open in August 1999. Their record for qualifying number one and their ability to run "light years" under their national class index is both highly reputed and revered by competitors.
