Jeff Arend started racing in 1979 in a high school challenge race at Cayuga Dragway Park. From there he graduated to faster and faster street cars culminating with 10 secs 130 mph street legal 1979 Chevelle in 1985. He next moved up to a 1927 supercharged Ford Roadster which ran 8.80’s. He most famous early project was his popular "Bad to the Bone" ‘48 Fiat Topollino which helped to repioneer the match race concept in the early 1990’s. Jeff left on every driver he raced that day, Dean Skuza, Al Hofmann, Del Worsham and Tony Pedregon. At the end of that year he held the quickest reaction time average for all Funny Car drivers at a .477.
Jeff Arend has since been a substitute driver for Al Hofmann’s Pontiac Firebird and Chuck Beal’s Dodge Avenger. He is now married ( wife Windy) and has a 2 year old daughter (Jenna). He permanently resides in San Dimas, CA. After working for five years as the Operations Manager for Frank Hawley's Drag Racing School, Jeff now works in Sales for Gale Banks Engineering.
