For the past 12 years K&K Racing & Performance in Stratford, ON has been the stable for the K&K Race Team of Kevin Wicke & Kevin Zimmer. With a steady progession through the different classes utilizing a few different cars they are now one of Canada's best Sportsman teams. They are the two time and defending Canadian Top Sportsman Champions (1999 & 2001). They also had a Runner-up finish at the 2001 IHRA Empire Nationals in New York. The team also has numerous Q16 wins at various other tracks. Wether on or off the track the team always does their best to promote the sport and sponsors in a first class manner.
Car owner/driver Kevin Wicke is the owner of K&K Racing & Performance and has been racing for over 25 years. His first car was a street Barracuda but eventually it wasn't fast enough ! Then came the full race version that competed in Pro then Super Pro until 1989 when he moved to "Pappy's Toy" a 81' Plymouth Arrow that eventually ran 7.90's. In 1996 he drove Ron Anderson's "Jerky Boyz" 69' Camaro in Q16 action.
In 1997 the team purchased their present car a 92' Chrysler LeBaron. With a 542 B1 Mopar with a 2 stage NOS system and a Hutchinson Powerglide the car has went as quick as 7.23 @ 190 mph.
The team is currently searching for new primary sponsorship but has secured secondary support from FRAM & Parts Pro and associate sponsors include Mac Tools, Synergyn Racing Oil, Hutchinson Transmission, CVR, Erie Drive-In, Perth Auto Dismantlers and Work World.
Kevin Zimmer is the crew chief and he also handles the teams marketing and public relations.
