For the last six years Brad Matheson has been a popular attraction at various Ontario drag strips with the original Killin Time supercharged 55 Chevy. That car was well known for its crowd pleasing burnouts on the match race scene.
For the year 2000 Matheson has taken delivery of a new replacement -- a Jerry Bickel chassied supercharged 55 Chevy. Car owner Matheson assembled the chassis which features a four link rear suspension and a strut front end. He mounted a radical looking 55 Chevy body supplied by Harwood Industries and a cool looking Top Fuel wing on the back. The meticulously prepared new 55 Chevy weighs 2850 lbs.
Power comes from a Atchison Machine built 555 CID cast iron Chevy engine which is rated at over 1800 HP. Jim Oddy did the fuel system and a Kobelco 14-71 Hi-helix supercharger spinning at 35% overdrive is employed. Eventually a move to a 510 CID Donovan aluminum engine is planned -- probably for the year 2001.
Killin Time Motorsports is a self funded racing operation which prides itself in having fun at the track and putting on a good show for the paying public. Team owner Brad Matheson is the owner and operator of Carbra Trans Incorporated, a trucking company that specializes in refrigerated trucking all across Canada and to and from the state of California. Carbra Trans Incorporated is the primary sponsor for Killin Time Motorsports.
