His tricks that were first developed during the mid to late 1970s were in fact eventually adopted by many U.S. based racing teams.
LaFontaine & Perigny were one of the first Super Stock teams ever to introduce a full six-point roll cage in the class. They attended ever single NHRA Molson Grandnationals event from 1973 through its demise in 1992. The team qualified #2 in Super Stock at Sanair in 1978, had a quarter final finish in 1984 and a semi final finish in 1990. The team placed well at the NHRA National Open events held at Napierville Dragway. They won Super Stock eliminator in 1990 and finished runner-up in 1989.
LaFontaine & Perigny will continue to run their tried and proven Chevy Camaro at select regional NHRA and IHRA events. Primary sponsorship for LaFontaine & Perigny comes from Zekes Automotive Performance. Driver Yves Perigny owns and operates an auto parts store (Pieces DAuto Y.P -- St-Tite).
