Team Reider Racing has headquarters at Torontos J&P Performance -- Canadas number one recognized 5.0 liter Mustang Specialists. Joe and Paul DaSilva campaign Canadas fastest NMRA (National Mustang Racing Association) Ford Mustangs. They are also the driving force behind Canadas biggest Annual Ford drag racing event -- the J&P Performance Weekend -- which will host its 9th edition this summer.
Joe DaSilva runs a 1998 Mustang GT which in March of 2000 became the first Pro 5.0 Mustang in history to crack the 7.5 secs barrier after running 7.49 secs during an event in Florida. The 2956 lbs Mustang features a 414 CID engine built by Paul DaSilva and a DFI Turbocharger by Joe Spettler. Joe DaSilva runs a clutchless Liberty 5-speed transmission and Goodyear rear slicks. DaSilvas Pro 5.0 Mustang produces an estimated 1500 HP.
Paul DaSilva campaigns the teams 87 Mustang in the Super Street class on 10.5 inch tires. Powered by a 392 CID engine (775 HP) equipped with dual 4-barrels and nitrous-oxide injection the 2988 lbs machine has a best run of 8.02 secs and 172.00 mph to its credit. Paul DaSilva runs a Liberty 5-speed transmission and a McLeod clutch.
Career highlights for Joe DaSilva so far include being nominated as Driver of the Year at London Motorsports Park in 1988 and a huge Pro 5.0 class win at the Fun Ford Weekend at Bradenton, Florida in March of 2000. Paul DaSilva has a Muscle Mustang Magazine event win at St. Louis to his credit as well as a Super Street Nationals title from St. Thomas Dragway.
