Team Wayco is a unique Ontario based multi -car team which features meticulously prepared and professional appearing race cars, personal and equipment.
Jim McNorgan drives the team's '34 Chevy roadster which features a Mike Spitzer-built chassis and an alcohol burning 468 CID big block Chevrolet engine which was built by McNorgan and teammate Sandy Holmes. Power is applied through a 2-speed powerglide transmission (from Killer Racing) that has a 5500 stall converter. The car features a number of home built innovations, The car weighs 1850 lbs without driver. The '34 Chevy, which is new for the 2000 season will be active at various local drag strips in Eastern Canada and the Northeast U.S. this year. Eventual plans include campaigning the car in NHRA legal Competition eliminator trim -- likely as a B/SR.
Jeff Roth, a graduate from the Junior Dragster ranks has been driving the team's Chevy Vega for two years. The 2700 lbs car is run in Super Pro ET brackets using a 750 HP 427 CID engine built by Atchison Machine Services (London, ON) A 3-speed automatic transmission by Killer Racing transfers power to a rear end with 4.56 gears. Both cars feature stunning "Canadiana" paint themes that were expertly applied by Graphics by Guilder's (London, ON).The team's primary sponsor is Wayco Multi-Lift Inc., which is Canada's largest independent lift truck company.
In 2001, London, Ontario's Kenny Brown joined Team Wayco with his F.J. Smith-built Oldsmobile Cutlass which is campaigned in Super Pro. In 2002 two more cars were added, a Pro ET '78 Chevy Malibu driven by Gerry Neidrauer (Delhi, ON), and a Pro ET '79 Camaro raced by Nick Holmes (London, ON).
Jim Roth, who is father to Jeff, is company President. Wayco Multi-Lift was established in 1983 and does over $7 million in annual sales.
