Glenn Person began drag racing his 1972 Plymouth Duster in 1995 after acquiring the car from fellow Canadian racer Mark Bennett. Each season has seen a steady evolution with the car which has been rebuilt from front to back. Depending on the current national index and the motor employed, Glen runs his car in either F/SA or G/SA trim.
A 340 CID engine that was machined by Ken Murray at Kens Custom Auto Machine (Winnipeg, MB) currently powers the car. All assembly was done by Glenn and his partner Pat Weber. The car features a unique and highly durable transmission expertly prepared by Mark Bennett (M.B. Auto). That is in fact a modified version of a Pro-Trans, 3-speed 904. Glenn Person uses a Thermo-quad carburetor as well as specially built and coated R.E.F Unlimited headers. The meticulously prepared Duster also features Weld racing wheels outfitted with M/T front tires and Hoosier slicks.
Glenn Person has begun to make his mark within the difficult Stock eliminator class ranks. His early accomplishments included a Stock/Super Stock combo event win at Saskatoon Raceway however in more recent times (spring of 2003) he scored a major Stock/Super Stock feature race win at Las Vegas (Mopars At The Strip event). Just two weeks later he followed that up a NHRA national record setting effort at Boise, Idaho. Glenn also has Stock eliminator class wins to his credit at Denver (2002) and Las Vegas (2003).
Glenn Persons racing operation is self-funded however he does receive valuable associate sponsorship from his own company, Associated Asbestos Abatement, as well as Queen City Performance, M.B. Auto, and Collectors Sources Motorsports (a muscle car restoration company).
Glenn Person is a proud Canadian racer who is active at regional NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series events as well as at select NHRA national event races.
