Born and raised Hamilton, Ontario, Ted Barnes now calls Caistorville home. He has been married to Cathy for 15 years and has two wonderful children, Cassidy 8 and Jackson 6. Ted has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Guelph. Having worked in financial services since 1994, Ted is currently a Branch Manager with Meridian Credit Union and offers the best service you'll get at any bank or financial institution!

Ted's racing career all started back in 1987 at Dragway Park in Trophy class. Ran 19.50's in the very same Datsun 510, but with a 4 cylinder engine & manual transmission. From that point on, Ted was hooked. The car began to evolve into a serious racecar by 1990.

After 4 track championships in Super Pro / Top ET…1992 & 1993 at London Motorsports Park…2000 & 2001 at Dragway Park Cayuga, the team looked for something different. So the car was set up to run IHRA's Hot Rod (10.90) class in 2001...Currently competing at a few IHRA national events, local TNT Super Series events in addition to regular bracket races at various tracks in southern Ontario/western New York.

At only their 4th national event -the 2003 AC Delco Canadian Nationals at Toronto Motorsports Park- the Performance Improvements Datsun made its way to the Winner's Circle and took home the Ironman!
