Alberta-based Kerry Watson and his family currently own and campaign Canada’s only Exhibition Wheelstander.

After operating his first wheelstander back in 1984 within the AHRA series, (a ' 55 Chevy Bel-Air called Rude & Crude) Watson returned to the exhibition circuit during 2004 after purchasing a unique '37 Chevy Pickup which was expertly built by Spokane Washington‘s Virgil Sellers. Named FULL TILT BOOGIE, the machine was an instant hit at Western drag strips that season. After final IHRA technical approval and licensing during Edmonton's Rocky Mountain Nationals, the truck was also run at Spokane International Raceway and Calgary’s Race City.

Based from Swan Hills, Alberta, the team which calls Edmonton’s Budweiser Raceway Park home, achieved their personal best time and speed at Spokane's Raceway Park, running 124.9 mph at 11.4 seconds on 2 wheels.

The Watson Family FULL TILT BOOGIE racing program is also strongly aligned to benefit Alberta’s youth in conjunction with the RCMP. They are co-promoters of road safety and keeping drag racing off the street and on the track. Their “REACH FOR THE SKY” program debuted in Jan 2005 to a group of schools in Alberta.

Valuable Sponsorship for Canada’s only exhibition wheelstander comes from SPITZ sunflower seeds, Acklands Grainger (West Edmonton, AB), Paramount Plumbing (Swan Hills, AB) and National Transmission (Lethbridge, AB).

The wheelstander is powered by a supercharged and alcohol burning 392 Chrysler Hemi which produces in excess of 1200 HP. Virgil Sellers built that engine however the tuning duties are tasked to crew chief Rick Schwindt. Power is transferred through a V-drive Dodge transfer case to 4:56 rear end gears. The body is all steel except for the Fiberglas fenders. Nightime runs include strobe lights under the truck box as well as roman candle fireballs, all of which are electronically controlled from inside the cab.

In 2005 plans are for Kerry Watson to license for NHRA competition and expand his tour to meet and great even more great Canadian drag racing fans.

The family operated team includes Kerry’s wife Jackie, son Jason and daughter Jennifer who all play intricate roles on raceday and with fan interaction.
