British Columbia’s Tim Nemeth, who has been active on the Western Canadian Top Alcohol Funny Car scene since 1999, has announced some major team developments for 2006.
Tim Nemeth will compete beginning this season with an all new Prostart chassied machine equipped with a 2004 Pontiac Firebird body acquired from the Edmonton-area Sitko Family. That car which will feature a BNR engine program will replace the 2002 Chevy Camaro which Tim race last season.
Nemeth is coming off his best season ever as a driver in 2005. Not only did he run his career best speed and ET, he placed third in final NHRA Division 6 Lucas points, despite attending only 5 events last season. 2005 also saw Tim win his first event ever as a driver, taking the Top Alcohol Funny Car shootout title at his former hometown, the Medicine Hat Motorplex.
Nemeth who has owned and operated an very successful industrial machining and pipeline contracting company since 1988, announced an expansion of his team this season to include the talented father and son team of Ken and Nathan Sitko. 2nd generation driver Nathan will take the wheel of the 2002 Chevy Camaro this season. The “joined forces” are expected to make a major impact on the Western Canadian TAFC scene in both NHRA and IHRA racing.
Tim’s schedule for the 2006 season includes all five NHRA Division 6 races, the NHRA Northwest Nationals at Seattle and the Top Alcohol Shoot Out in his hometown of Medicine Hat, AB.

Nathan will compete at select NHRA Division 6 events in addition to his regularly scheduled commitments in Alberta, BC, and Saskatchewan. The Sitko team will also compete at the IHRA Rocky Mountain Nationals in Edmonton, and tentatively plan to race at the NHRA Northwest Nationals in Seattle.
