Corinne and Brian MacMillan have raced under the team name of MacMillan & Wife Racing with their 1968 Camaro for almost 20 years. Although the car has undergone many transformations throughout this time period (both mechanical and cosmetic), the team name has remained constant. During the early part of their participation in the sport, Corinne and Brian took turns driving the car at local bracket races, and at divisional and national events in the NHRA Super Street and IHRA Hot Rod classes. At the local level, the team won a class championship one year and earned a second place finish the following year. This took place at their initial home track of Viking International Dragway in Gimli, MB. At the national event level, Brian won in the Hot Rod class at the Mid-America Nationals on August 14,1994 in Scribner, NE. A few years later, and after the addition of more horsepower to the car, Corinne took over driving the car full time in the NHRA Super Gas and IHRA Super Rod categories across the mid-west and at a local level and continued to campaign the car under the team name, with Brian assuming crew chief duties.

In 1999, the couple moved to Ajax, ON (from Winnipeg, MB) and continued to campaign the car locally and at the divisional and national event level in NHRA and IHRA divisions 1 and 3. The abundance of tracks and events in these 2 divisions made for a very hectic April – October racing schedule each year. On August 14, 2004, exactly 10 years to the day that Brian won his national event in Hot Rod, Corinne won her first national event in Super Rod at the IHRA Northern Nationals in Martin, MI. During the winter of 2004, the car was rechassied by Advanced Chassis in Antwerp, OH. The following year, Corinne continued her competitive performance with a runner-up finish at the 2005 IHRA World Nationals in Norwalk, OH. Strong performance at several races throughout the 2005 season earned the team a ninth place IHRA Division 3 standing in Super Rod at the end of the season.

During the winter of 2005, the car had some additional chassis work performed by Advanced Chassis and the car was then given a cosmetic face lift. The Scott Brown paint scheme was masterfully executed by Scott Jahren of Scott Jahren Custom Paint and Dan Delaney a.k.a. Dan the Sign Man, both in Buffalo, NY. The new look has resulted in 2 best appearing car awards – one from IHRA and one from NHRA through the early 2006 season. Corinne’s strong driving skills have netted the team an IHRA Pro-Am Division 3 win also this year in Milan, MI thus maintaining the team’s strong points standing in the division.

About the car:

Power for the Camaro comes from a Reher - Morrison 522 Super Series engine backed by a powerglide that has ATI and BTE components. The rear end is a Mark Williams Ford 9” with a 4 link suspension. The suspension is hung with Afco shocks. The front end is stopped and hung by Strange brakes and struts.

When not racing, Corinne teaches Manufacturing at Ajax High School in Ajax, ON and Brian is a Regional Manager for American Eagle Wheel Corporation.
