in 1973, Competition Automotive is the first choice for many
of Canada’s top motorsports teams for their most presise
machine shop requirements.
Specializing in high performance engine
applications for drag racing, circle track, road racing
and street, the Competition Automotive shop features state-of-the-art
honing, boring and machining equipment designed to handle
a wide range of both domestic and import engine requirements.
Competition Automotive is also a source
for hard core high performance internal parts. They carry
a large inventory of all major brands.
Competition Automotive is owned and
operated by reputed Canadian drag racer Doug Lipps who has
a long history of drag racing experience that includes running
NHRA Super Stock, Modified Production, and Gas class vehicles
as far back as the early 1970’s.
The facility was also the home to
a Canadian Pro Stock team between 1982-88 which featured
drivers Alan Marsh (NHRA) and Pete Reid (NHRA & IHRA).
