Ron Hodgson Pontiac Buick GMC is an industry leading dealership in Western Canada based in greater Edmonton. First established in 1978, Ron Hodgson offers a full line of Pontiac Buick and GMC as well as Optimium used vehicles. The dealership is on the cutting edge of GM Performance Parts Sales. They were the first dealership in Canada to enter G.M.'s program (beginning in the mid 1990's) and remain Canada's largest distributor of GM Performance Parts. The staff is well known for it's keen interests in motorsports including drag racing and sprint car racing. Ron Hodgson's Pontiac Buick GMC dealership is a multiple GM "Triple Crown" Award winner.

President Ron Hodgson's involvement in motorsports is of legendary status in Canada. After first establishing a highly successful chain of Speed Shops in Edmonton, Calgary and Saskatoon (Pacemaker Automotive) Ron was the first Canadian to build and campaign a A/FX Funny Car. In 1972 he began a racing partnership with Gordon Jenner and placed runner-up in Funny Car eliminator at the NHRA U.S. Nationals. In 1974 Ron joined forces with Jerry Verhual and Gordie Bonin. Together that team became Canada's most famous Funny Car drag racing team, winning five national events including three NHRA Gatornationals titles as well as the sport's ultimate prize -- the NHRA U.S. Nationals (in 1979). Ron Hodgson is reputed as a driving force behind the establishment and marketing of motorsports in the Edmonton area. Between 1974-79 he promoted and operated Edmonton International Speedway. Ron has been involved with numerous marquee Top Fuel racing drivers including Gary Beck, Donny Couch, Ed McCulloch, Terry Capp and most recently Craig Smith. Ron's Top Fuel teams have won AHRA World Championship titles in 1988, 1989 and in 2000. Ron Hodgson was inducted as team owner, along side his racing partners Gordon Jenner and Gordie Bonin, into the Canadian Motorsports Hall of Fame during a ceremony in Toronto in February of 2000.

Ron Hodgson, in addition to running several versatile businesses, and being part owner of the NHL's Edmonton Oilers, remains an active supporter of motorsports in Canada, both Drag Racing and Sprint Car racing.
