VP Racing Consolidates C23 Family of Racing Fuels

VP Racing Fuels announced an evaluation of its C23 race fuel blends has led it to consolidate the line into just one offering. Our C23, C23+ and C23++ blends each offered incremental protection against detonation, but weve concluded the increments are simply not meaningful enough to continue all three blends, said Steve Burns, VPs President and Direc tor-R&D. The best performing of the three blends is C23++, so thats the only formula well continue to offer. Were simply taking the C23++ formula and renaming it C23.

The C23 family of fuels was introduced several years ago to offer several options to racers with nitrous applications, large 800 cubic inch IHRA-style drag race engines and/or 10.5 series cars with compression ratios up to 18:1. With the new C23, racers can be confident theyll get top performance and a significant cooling effect for their high compression applications with higher octane demands, Burns added.

Despite this change, all three C23 formulas will remain on the Accepted Fuel List for NHRA Championship Drag Racing for the balance of the 2007 season.
