VP Extends Contingency Program For IHRA

 VP Racing Fuels, the world leader in race fuel technology, announced the extension of its contingency program for International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) competitors at national events for the 2008 season. Continuing a program it started three seasons ago, it will be administered independent of IHRA, according to Steve Scheidker, Director-Marketing & Communications for VP.
“VP has been a major and consistent supporter of drag racing throughout its 33-year history through contingency programs and other sponsorships,” said Scheidker. “We want to reward IHRA competitors who use VP fuels, but because IHRA has an exclusive agreement with its Official Fuel sponsor, it precludes us from posting awards through the series or working directly with them to administer the program. So we’ll manage the program ourselves and ask racers simply to provide the appropriate documentation to us.” Contingency postings include the following:

VP’s program will be effective starting at the first national event April 3-6 in San Antonio, TX. Information regarding fuel for IHRA races can be obtained by calling the appropriate VP regional distribution center, each of which is listed on its website at vpracingfuels.com.
To claim awards, racers should provide a photo of their vehicle in the Winner’s Circle, clearly showing VP 5”x7” logo decals affixed to their vehicle (hard copies or digital files, which can be emailed to cheryl@vpracingfuels.com). They should also provide proof of purchase of VP fuel that is legal for use in their IHRA class, in the following minimum quantities:
- 5 gallons per race
- 30 gallons purchased within the past 60 days prior to the date of the race for which the award is claimed.
- 54 gallons purchased within the past 120 days prior to the date of the race for which the award is claimed.
